Hey Hakarena!

Hey Hakarena! Let's be embarrassing! Embarrassing alright! This hilarious video from England, about unleashing their "secret weapon" is so embarrassing, you've gotta be like, "What the heck!?"! As a kiwi and a New Zealander, that seems to be pretty stupid, acting like a bunch of NZ Haka rip offers.... But then their "Haka" turns into the Macarena dance, pretty weird, right!? Watch the video below and comment if you agree with me:

Art piece

Here is an art piece I spent quite a while working on. My bird, drawn on the right, is a kea flying in mid-air, about to land on a branch, shaped as a koru. What looks like behind him, is a flowing lake. Right next to the lake, is a tall mountain, almost looking like a volcano, standing straight and tall. Above it is the sky, with lovely patterns flying above, with a huge square koru, used as a cloud.

Basketball Skills

Welcome to yet another awesome blog about Parkvale School's best classroom and teacher, Mrs Hardaker and Room 19! So, for PE Mrs Hardaker decided to focus on Basketball. For the first few weeks, we were all learning the Basketball moves and practising a lot so we get great results. Then we played a game with another class. It was awesome! A while after that, Mrs Hardaker wanted us to make a video of all of our awesome basketball skills! Here is my one:

LA lakers reading work - Week 6

LA Lakers Reading work

Today I finished this week's reading work, just in time with the help of my mate Vaughn. Here is my reading work for this week:

To view the doc live, click here

Now I can move on and finish my other school work (I'll share them with you!).

ANZAC Cookies

So, ANZAC is coming up this Saturday, so Mrs Hardaker thought of an awesome thing to do: create our own ANZAC cookies!

So Mrs Hardaker got us to write the ANZAC cookies recipe in our literacy book, and nicely too!

The next day, we made the ANZAC cookies, they all turned out great! Some of the cookies were crunchy, some were soft, and all of them were delicious! I bet those soldiers who risked their life for us in war would of loved them!

These are the results of my group's ANZAC cookies:

Pepeha

Another All About Me activity, but it's still fun if you're in Mrs Hardaker's class! Mrs Hardaker decided to make our pepehas on Tellagami. With Tellagami, you can personalise your own character, record your voice, then WALA! You've got a talking animated character!

Tellagamis can be useful for anything

Here is my pepeha:

Edmund Hillary

So, it's back to the time at school when you have to research! But this time, it was a bit more interesting... we got to choose an NZ hero, and make an 'All About Him/her' on the hero. I choose Edmund Hillary, and i created a PowerPoint presentation on him. This was my presentation:

This presentation took me about a week to finish, and somehow, i really enjoyed it, and i can't wait until i get to share other cool things I've been doing!

Tagxedo

So, what shall we do that's fun while half of our hub (Totara Hub) goes swimming... Oh, Yes! An all about me activity... but what shall we use to make an all about me that looks cool? But as we always know, Mrs Hardaker always have learning the fun way usually planned.

"I would like everyone to jump onto your devices and make a tagxedo about yourself."

And so everyone rushed onto their devices and started looking for websites that you can create a tagxedo. It took us quite a while to find the right site because some websites required Adobe Flash and some needed Microsoft Services or something. But we all finally found the right site.

After a few days I finished my tagxedo. This was mine:

If you would like to create your own tagxedo like my one, just click this link:

At least now most of us, hopefully all, have finished the tagxedo. Unfortunately, the ones who haven't finished them won't be able to share theirs!

Superheroes

Look at that! Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it a dog stuffed in a hotdog that just flew off a catapult? No! It's a superhero!

Hey everyone! It's time for you to check out what we've been doing on the first/second week of school! Can you guess what we were doing? Well, we were creating superheroes!

Pretty cool, huh?! You can create your own at Marvel.com! After we created these, we wanted more fun added into it. And so I thought, wouldn't it be cool to have my face on the superhero! This is what my superhero looked like after a bit of editing:

I thought that this was amazing! So I showed the teacher (Mrs Hardaker), and she thought it was amazing!
So she yelled out to the class, "Everyone, if you want your superhero to have your face on it, email it to Sam." And so I got lots of emails saying 'Sam can you print this' 'Sam please do this' etc.

If YOU would like your superhero to have your face on it, just take a screenshot of your superhero, take a picture of you, write your email (so I can send it back) then email it to me (my email: slamuelrock@icloud.com).

I'll give it to you in no time!
